William R. Doucette, Ph.D.

William R. Doucette, Ph.D. is Professor and Head in the Division of Health Services Research in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Iowa, where he holds the Deborah K. Veale Professorship in Healthcare Policy. During more than 25 years at the University of Iowa he has taught courses on managing pharmacy practices, developing pharmacy services and delivering health services. Dr Doucette is an active researcher of community pharmacy practice. He has been principal investigator on grants exceeding three million dollars and has co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles. He has worked for over a decade with the Iowa Department of Public Health in advancing the roles of community pharmacists in helping to manage chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. His research has been recognized with awards by the American Pharmacists Association and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
