CPPI's team is made up of three main parts: the leadership team, core faculty and affiliate faculty. The leadership team is made up of CPPI's core staff members. The director and assistant director are also part of the core faculty, which is made up of VCU School of Pharmacy faculty members who actively contribute to the goals of the center. Affiliate faculty also contribute to center goals, although their participation is more varied.

Teresa Salgado joined VCU in 2016 after completing a post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Michigan. Prior to that, she was working in hospital pharmacy in Portugal after completing her M.Pharm. and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Lisbon. She is the primary investigator on CPPI's patient outcomes project with Bon Secours Medical Group and the chronic kidney disease project with VCU Health, as well as being the co-PI on Project InnoVAte.

Research interests: pharmacists’ roles in improving medication use and health outcomes in primary care, pharmacists’ roles in the management of patients with chronic kidney disease, drug information for health care professionals

Evan Sisson has been a professor at VCU since 2006. He is spearheading CPPI's Diabetes Prevention Program at the Health Hub at 25th. Part of his work for DPP has been training the incoming P1 classes as lifestyle coaches for the program and setting up a framework where each DPP participant is paired with a student to increase retention and benefits of the program. He became assistant director of CPPI in February 2022.

Research interests: primary care, diabetes, dyslipidemia

Sydney joined the CPPI team in September 2022, providing administrative and communication assistance to the various programs generated by CPPI. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language with a concentration in Spanish and a minor in Psychology from VCU. Prior to taking this position, she owned and operated her own business. Sydney brings experience communicating with external customers, managing social media and the website for her business, managing finances, billing, etc.
