Delesha Carpenter, Ph.D., MSPH is a Professor and Executive Vice Chair in the Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at the Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Carpenter’s research focuses on developing impactful interventions to improve access to pharmacy-based health services. She actively engages diverse community partners to co-develop interventions that address pressing health problems and are feasible to incorporate into practice. She is the Director of the only practice-based research network for rural community pharmacists (RURAL-CP), which currently engages with over 170 pharmacies in seven Southeastern states. She has authored more than 175 peer-reviewed publications and has led more than two dozen research studies as a principal investigator. She received the American Pharmacists Association Research Achievement Award in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2025.
