It is my pleasure to welcome you to the VCU School of Pharmacy Center for Pharmacy Practice Innovation. The Center serves as a resource to individual pharmacists, private practices, health systems, policy makers, and others seeking to improve medication-related patient health outcomes by incorporating pharmacists into collaborative care models. A hub for research and professional development, Center faculty leverage their expertise and experience to work with our partners in the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative and sustainable care models.
Since its founding in 2015, the Center has achieved several important milestones, including the establishment of a collaborative network of area health systems, safety-net free clinics, state professional associations, amongst others, to develop and support innovative pharmacy practice initiatives. This includes providing over $30,000 in funding for pilot projects and collaborating on multiple projects with various practice partners. Additionally, the Center has established a monthly seminar series highlighting key opinion leaders in pharmacy practice and healthcare and created innovative professional development opportunities to help clinicians further enhance their practice. The Center also provides student pharmacists and residents opportunities to engage in pharmacy practice research and learn more about the future of the pharmacy profession.
